Simple Fly Hack Solution

I think we all know how this one works. Simply put a height limit over the map. First, get nexon testers to find the highest reachable point in the map by jumping, and then increase that by say, 10 feet. Anyone going higher instadies. For those little hackers that glitch through the floor, make it so that they die if they hit -3 feet under the lowest point in the map. Should be easy enough to implement.

It's evident in cabin fever, mainly. In all other maps, it's set REALLY high.

I would just set it to, you cannot be in the air for more than "X" seconds. Even the jumps from the highest spots in CA last shorter than the average fly-hacker's flight, am I right? Razz

Or put the maps in a dome, like the Simpsons movie.

Anyone who flies too high would go splat.

There are simple solutions to catch/prevent hackers but aren't implemented in the game. Nexon relies too much on AhnLabs, which obviously doesn't do the job well.

I like your idea. Looks pretty easy to program and effective.

Nevertheless, the best way would still be to reprogram the whole game and only permit people to be in the areas they are suppose to be. This means, if you get inside a wall, go up to the sky, etc. you will die. And they should check the players position and make some calculations to know if you're running above the limit speed (speedhacking). Just get the best speed gear and see the top speed (then make it a little above because the lag can affect the players speed - and people in EU get a speedhacking message sometimes for mistake).

Yes, this is a lot of trouble to do and Nexon is pretty lazy so if we have to go for simple and easy solutions then yours would help a lot.

Yeah, the current height limits are too high up.

I say 5 meters above the highest place in the map and the flyhacker chokes should be good.

I think theres a few problems with that.
Say you have a big map like waverider.
The maximum height would be 5 meter above the large tower in the center of the map which means fly hackers could still fly.
Varying the height for certain places in a map might still pose problems for developers too.

Well, there are few maps that have towers.

Two towers, Waverider, Snow Valley and Rattlesnake.
For these maps, flyhackers would probably still be safe.

But on maps like Junk Flea, Sector 25, Gray Hammer, Sand Hog, Shortfuse etc,
I think it would work well.

The thing is, you could just run up to the highest point with a sniper and kill them from there, since they would be what, 15 feet above that?

I KNOW that it's evident in all the Short Fuse on maps. I forgot the order they came out before that, so I can't say anything about that. Why Nexon doesn't just go back and fix it? I don't know...
