Re: Black Lung Commotion
I think the best thing to do is introduce a new difficulty level.
If the fireteam is too easy, then there's no challenge to it. ._.
If it's too difficult, people get frustrated.

Re: Black Lung Commotion
A fourth difficulty level?
Let's call this level "Impossible".
Change our current Black Lung Extreme difficulty into Impossible, boost up rewards by 130%.
Have an extreme mode that bridges the gap between impossible and hard. Not sure what this'll look like.
Does this sound ideal?

Re: Black Lung Commotion
Okay, this guy in the forums said nothing will change, since all the good players will flock to Impossible.
Hm..
Nexon will definitely tone down the difficulty of Black Lung in the next patch but this gap between novice and veteran fireteam players is widening.
It's dividing the community and forcing newbies to resort to hacking in fireteam to better their scores.

Re: Black Lung Commotion
That's quite the major concern...
Perhaps more difficulty modes is exactly what we need. More difficulty modes=higher possibility of a mode where pros and newbs unite.

Re: Black Lung Commotion
The problem here is not about the game. It's about the people playing the game.
Maybe a simple fix to get high ranked players to mingle around with fireteam newbies is to organise some sort of event. Like a small % increase in exp/gp if you have 2 or more ft newbies in your team.

That's only a temporary solution.

It has its benefits, although it's just a temporary solution.

This is a better solution.
Also, read my post on the thread XMdead made.
I think XMdead would be a valuable member to FFCA if we got him to join...

Re: Black Lung Commotion
Hm, imo, the problem is not about the Black Lung being too tough to complete. It's the widening gap between skilled ft players and newb ft players.
If he wants people who can clear Cabin regularly to be able to clear the Black Lung then he obviously wants the nerfs for his own benefit.
hurhur.

Then read my post. I proposed 3 new difficulty levels.

Re: Black Lung Commotion
You mean the one about the rewards?
We need to give pro ft players an incentive to play with the novice players to spread the knowledge around,
I'm in school ._. can't access Nexon forumz.

Re: Black Lung Commotion
I actually believe XM's ideas are a better fix. The main things that need to be changed in opinion are the zombies rushing when they spawn, and the proximity in which the zombies spawn on the stairs.

Re: Black Lung Commotion
I think that if they just lower down the difficulty to the way it was before everyone would be happier. People played it due to the fact that it was easy to finish not because they actually LOVED it...

But it could be used for powerleveling.

Re: Black Lung Commotion
I agree with Armand on this one, they screwed up the game by spawning rushing zombies. The gap between Pro's and Amateurs in Fireteam games is ALWAYS going to exist. The least we can do for this gap is to create a fireteam that both can be challenged, black lung was that mode.
Side-Note: this could be acomplished by giving the dynamite a boost, instead of it being a mediocre grenade. At this point the rewards for black lung don't justify even playing it. Actually giving a purpose similar to the Super-Charged weapons in Cabin Fever, possibly let the player hold 3 instead 1, or even giving it an upgrade in effective range or damage, or making them respawn much faster than they do now (think of having access to a barrel full of dynamite, that'd even up the difficulty).

Re: Black Lung Commotion
Erm, did no one pay attention to what I wrote? ._.
I believe adding in more difficulty levels while correctly scaling the GP/XP according to difficulty can help prevent all of this.
I have in idea: Renaming our current extreme into Impossible, and adding in modes: Intermediate, Overkill and Extreme.

Re: Black Lung Commotion
I don't think that that would be a very good fix... it would just create an even bigger gap between the noobs and the pros in fireteam.

Re: Black Lung Commotion
They should just tone the difficulty level down to nearly what it was before. At that point, experienced and new players alike were bonding together, even if it was a tad easier.
Re: Black Lung Commotion
I'm sorry haz, but more difficulties will simply make a larger gap between pros and newbs. Scarcely anyone plays hard, and I think few people would play extreme if there were more rewarding difficulties.
