Ban me.
It seems as though FFCA will never be judged as something other than another balance movement for as long as I am a Representative.
For the past 1 and 3/4(?) years, I have let trolls, flamers, and my own personal emotions cloud my judgement.
Was this completely my fault? Somewhat, but it also lies in the unhomely, almost hostile community as well.
But let's focus on me right now:
In the past, when I first joined, I knew none of the forumers, yet I posted trying to rally for change in the game. The changes I tried to push for were not only drastic, but also too specific to the point where people attacked specific points in my suggestions rather than focusing on what matters: Making the game fair and an enjoyable experience for everyone, like reducing lag.
I then learned from SOME of my mistakes, and started to post more ambiguously: http://forum.nexon.net/CombatArms/forums/thread/5648191.aspx
The main problem I've had since I joined in April '09 was that I could never really separate my personal feelings and my professional opinions in my posts. I didn't really blame myself too much for that, after all, I AM a high school sophomore, you can't honestly expect me to act like an adult or actual politician, can you? However, I was still at fault. That's the point.
I was so at fault, that I started to become paranoid.
Every time someone posted saying: "Dude, chill," or "They're not worth it," my paranoia tells me that they're just trying to make me lift my guard down so they can hurt me even more. They're just trying to get me to not fight for myself, like how entire countries remained passive during WWII until it was too late.
My paranoia stems from the fact that I go into a defensive, cold, bitter shell of rejecting the possibility anyone wants to help me. When I get mass-flamed by the community, I retreat into my shell to not only protect myself from feeling the flames of their insults, but to also TRY to counter-argue without allowing my emotions take hold of my judgement and my decisions. Of course, this repeatedly fails me, since I still let my emotions get to me to the point where I am "confrontational".
I am sorry I let this disrupt every FFCA thread we've made so far.
It seems as though the forum will forever remain opinionated as long as they see me as some "leader" of FFCA, which I certainly am not.
This ban will be also for FFCA's benefit as well as perhaps some time for me to focus on something else instead of the community's negativity. So it is something that would benefit the both of us. If my presence is destroying our reputation, then unban me when the time comes where people begin to understand FFCA is more than just what I fight for as an individual, but what WE fight for as a group, for the community.
Perhaps this time will come when they see FFCA ban their own members for once instead of being so damned reluctant to hand out bans. Perhaps this time will come when they see our announcement on the server lag solution Jarfer presented, a check for if the engine is the same engine Nexon's other games run, the game development blog, as well as the multi-threaded game engine. Perhaps this time will be never.
Perhaps I should forever remained banned for the sake of FFCA.
Slayer, Zirrick, everyone, when I first started FFCA, I knew this would happen.
I knew the community would label us as another FAAT.
But I did it anyways, because I believe in you. I believe a community in unity will make the right choices. Choices that far surpass me, or anyone for that matter, could've come up with on their own.
If my sacrifice is necessary for the success of this organization, I am fully prepared for righteous punishment.
Ban me for as long as it takes for the Nexon community to gain human understanding of what we are trying to do FOR THEM. Ban me for as long as it takes for me to calm down.
Once I've been banned, don't keep quiet. Tell everyone FFCA banned their own for breaking the Code of Conduct.

Re: Ban me.
Don't ban yourself. Just cool down and stay away from the FFCA threads in Nexon forum.
Go help people in the tech support section, off topics etc
Lock the Game Balance to show people that Lag/Hacks are more important. let's focus only on these two things for now.

Re: Ban me.
How about we just temporarily strip you of the rep position?
Banning you would be too drastic, and I'll be more than willing to reappoint you to being a rep once we:
A) Make some progress
B) Get more members
You won't be permitted to really have a say regarding the FFCA over on the CA forums. That way, people like nametagg won't see you posting, and negative comments will not ensue.
I'm fine with just adjusting your position with the FFCA, not your actual membership. Is this fine?

I feel a ban would send a stronger message though.

Re: Ban me.
Once people realize however, that we're NOT doing game balance just because it has more topics, we may unlock?
Of course, it will take time. Perhaps tomorrow, perhaps next year.

Re: Ban me.
K let's IP ban Haz mwahaha
No, srsly.
We need to convince them that this isn't a narrow-minded, tunnel visioned, rigid organisation.
Our direction is influenced by the community. And since the community we have now says that we should fix Lag, followed by hacks then that we shall do.

Again haz. Extreme one way, now overkill this way. MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MIND MAN.
Anyways, I guess I'll up my activity on the forum, to compensate for haz's temporary leave.

mrfarhan, there's a difference between criticism and insult.
You're constantly confusing them with each other.
Moreover, lolpie probably didn't mean any disrespect, as we are all family here at FFCA.

I wasn't offended b/c it was friendly criticism(or at least I hope it was).
You interpreted it as insult.

Re: Ban me.
Haz, I still think you've got some good ideas/intentions.
I just don't think at this point that it'd be a good idea to give you a bullhorn.
Really stick to being behind the scenes, bring up ideas/improve them.

Re: Ban me.
Hazarath you have great ideas. Right now we have few members, and you're a strong voice in our community, hence why we can't afford to lose you. Simply stay away from our FFCA posts on the CA forums for the time being. You started the FAAT which eventually WAS a success. I think merely the fact that you're so opinionated is part of what makes you successful at these things. Don't get down on yourself because some people are opposed to you. Those people would be opposed to us no matter what, simply because we're like the whigs, and those who don't want change are the tories. It's like politics. You'll never agree with everyone, so you might as well do what you do.
btw, if you feel that being a younger age than most of the CA community is a bad thing, I'm the same age as you. Don't worry about it.

Re: Ban me.
No, me being at a younger age means I'm inexperienced in these types of situations, therefore I am constantly at a disadvantage.
I am constantly being judged on the standards of an adult.
For the most part, I can keep up to par on their standards, but as you can clearly see, I fail sometimes in these prospects.

Simple haz. Judge them on the standards of an adult too. Then they can't criticize you for anything that isn't extremely immature. They shouldn't expect you to do something that they can't themselves.
I've avoided bullets many times by doing this.

good point lolpie.
If you show them to be hypocrites, they lose more credibility then you ever could.
