Elite Moderator Abuse. Empty Elite Moderator Abuse.

Post by THATSghetto Thu Oct 28, 2010 3:49 pm

A large portion of the Elite Moderators are abusing their power for personal gain. Not all of them do this, and some even do it unaware that the person they are kicking for "hacking" doesn't hack. However, this has been a problem for a long while, and it really pushed the line when forum member x_alpeccs_x was kicked for being black. Here are some possible solutions (I may not be the first one to say these, those who have said it before me get their credit for suggesting what they have)

-Change the voting system so that everyone who does not vote does not count towards the vote rather than everyone automatically becoming an f5 if you don't vote.
-Allowing only the elite moderator to choose who to kick, but said person will only be kicked if the majority of the room F5s.
-Only allowing the elite moderator to make a certain number of kicks per minute/game (i.e, only one kick each minute, 5 total kicks per game)
-Allowing the elite moderator to type out why they are kicking the person instead of just choosing between the standard 5 options (it would be nice to know what "other" means) so that people voting have a better idea of how the elite is using their power.

Also, I think elite moderator's should be able to kick at any point in the game as some game abusers do not abuse gameplay until the final minutes of the game where the elite is powerless to kick someone from the room.

any other suggestions would be appreciated.

here are some things that have been suggested through the thread:

Have an "Elite moderator profile" next to fireteam or something when you look at players' profile in game.

This will help us determine how good/bad one is.

If they have super Emods, then they get +20% GP/XP instead of +5%

change the default vote from yes to no.

players that vote gain a GP/XP bonus every time

give them a tab somewhere that says the rules for the game, and it should also be written underneath the "GAME START" that comes up whenever you start a game.

have an extra voting option : F7 where your vote is null and doesn't count towards yes or no.

make 50% the line for the emod's good/bad vote system.

if you're the elite mod you can set up the rules which are shown if you join the room (lobbychat maybe) and after the start of the game/each round(for s&d or elim pro) or every minute.

Green, Orange, Red Elite and Gold, Silver, Bronze SE moderator colors to show a certain percentage of votes that were agreed on by the ingame players

Include yellow elite moderator status(badge color) as a medium between green and red.

Have an "Elite moderator profile" next to fireteam or something when you look at players' profile in game.

This will help us determine how good/bad one is.

Good idea btw.

I like this.

It will prevent the typical "OMG I GOT KIECKED FROM ELITE ROOM OGM REMOVE ELITE Mad "

Always better to improve/modify than remove ^-^

Another thing is removing something is most likely something Nexon as a company won't comply with. As to them, it's telling them to make less money for our sake.

Excessive paranoia and lack of nerve synapses in the brain are also contributing factors to Elite moderator retardation. My scientific research proves my hypothesis without fail.

OH! And we need an E-mod badge that's "gold level" meaning twice the amount of F5 votes than F6 votes.

Oh! And those that attain gold level status get super E-mod powers if they have Emods

If they have super Emods, then they get +20% GP/XP instead of +5%

And if you get red Emod status, I was thinking you would be punished, but I decided that if Nexon did that, that means less profit for them.

From a business point of view, my suggestion would ENCOURAGE not only moral behavior from the Emods, but also a steadier revenue from Emods that DO have good behavior vs. having bad behavior.

that's also a possible solution zirrick, but some emods might get bad rep even if they kick hackers that way.

Allowing only the elite moderator to choose who to kick, but said person will only be kicked if the majority of the room F5s

- why would anyone buy the Elite Pass then.

The Elite Moderator Tab is quite a good idea.
It shows how many kicks you made,
how many F5s, F6s.
etc.

Indeed.

We also need a way to motivate players for pressing F5 or F6...

How about players that vote gain a 1% GP/XP bonus every time?

the people who dont vote should counted as NULL voteLike: 5 voted YES; 5 voted NO; 2 NULL votesand the position of the vote/elite kick notification is a bit bad it should be more in the middle of the screen so u have to press f5 or f6 before the notification switch to the right side of the screen where it is now. and the name of the player who is target of the kick should be more conspicious same goes for the reason of the kick.

Yeah I think a null value for the votes would be good. I still think that the default vote being "no" is still the way to go. In that sense they would have to kick a hacker/glitcher that everyone would agree on, and rage-kicks would have more weight seeing as these kicks would often go unnoticed.

But yes the few ideas I've seen is a message that would stay idle within the e-mods room, that could be used for personally enforced rules. Also another reason should be added for kicking called "Violation of E-Mods rules". Also the e-mods rules/room name should be present within the in-game scoreboard, somewhere along the bottom.

I agree with you on the "violation of e-mods rules" zirrick. maybe we should give them a tab somewhere that says the rules for the game, and it should also be written underneath the "GAME START" that comes up whenever you start a game.

I think it would be better if we simply allowed them to type out their reason for kicking though.

well, see the current emod vote system is retarded, really they should've made 50% the line for the emod's good/bad vote system.

I agree with the suggestions made here, would be nice if NEXON would do something with it.

I really hate getting kicked by random elites for just killing them once or having a rank higher than CSM :S

"violation of e-mods rules": one of our eu forum members(caska aka. l2ukia aka. lilium aka. rebirth aka...) made a nice suggestion:

if ur elite mod u can set up the rules which are shown if u join the room (lobbychat maybe) and after the start of the game/each round(for s&d or elim pro) or every minute.

I think,

1. Elite Moderator Tab
2. 1% GP bonus everytime you vote
3. Even if you leave the room, you get EXP, maybe 50% EXP and 100% GP of
what you were to get if they didn't kick you.
4. Green, Orange, Red Elite and Gold, Silver, Bronze SE.
