Game Repack Development Blog
We're going to push for Nexon to create a development blog of sorts that details their progress with the game re-pack much like with what this game developer did with his game to stop players from constantly pestering him with questions: http://deadfrontierdev.blogspot.com/
If possible, this development blog should also include ANYTHING they're working on with combat arms. i.e. The Black Lung map leak Kalika posted would go well on a dev. blog.
They don't have to make an entirely new site for this, they could just create a locked thread only moderators can post on or something.

Re: Game Repack Development Blog
I agree. This quasi-official blog would give daily reports on what exactly was done over at their development center, although I'm pretty sure it would read:
- 9:00 AM: Office beer pong (job is stressful, k?)
- 10:00 AM: Randy-banning party!
- 11:00 AM: moar Beer pong
- 12:00 AM: Ticket system duties
- 12:01 AM: Lunch!
- 4:00 PM:
popGo-karts! - 6:00 PM: Why are we here we should go home lols!
Re: Game Repack Development Blog
But in all seriousness, this is a great idea. Now to pressure Kalika....
Re: Game Repack Development Blog
It would be more like:
Oh Haz you play Dead Frontier? I used to in high school. Dunno if I should start again.
- 9:00 AM: sleep in and come to HQ later! COME IN EARLY AND YOU'RE FIRED OK
- 10:00 AM: Nexon roulette, scroll up and down a list of names on the playerlist and point at a random person to suspend and ban
- 11:00 AM: NAPTIME. KALIKA YOU BETTER NOT WAKE US UP
- 4 PM: Send automated ticket replies with GM_Maverick's totally unrelated input for lulz
- 5 PM: OH SNAP WE FORGOT TO DO MAINTENANCE!!!! DAMMITT HIME ITS ALL YOUR FAULT! ON THE DOUBLE GOGOGO
- 8:00 PM: Pot break! HIME'S PAYING FOR EVERYONE (OR ELSE)
- 10:00 PM: TIME FOR SLEEPOVER PARTY AT KALIKA'S (FRESH MEAT) HOUSE!!!!!! LOLOLOLOLO
Oh Haz you play Dead Frontier? I used to in high school. Dunno if I should start again.

Erm.. It'd be nice if we had a few more ideas besides a blog ._.

Re: Game Repack Development Blog
We can do a little research with finding gaming servers, optimized for FPS games.
We can present it to Nexon/Kalika, and the combat arms team can apply for a little extra dough from corporate to purchase a new, small server farm for Combat Arms.
Anyone wanna research this? It would also help a lot if we new Nexon's current server models, as to compare pricing/performance.

Re: Game Repack Development Blog
Now would maybe be a good time to introduce a "specialist" division for senates.

Care to elaborate?
Re: Game Repack Development Blog
Y'know, what I talked about how Senates will have certain areas of expertise
They'll hold the responsibility of having a citizen's suggestion or something checked out and confirmed. i.e. if you're a senate of weaponry, and someone suggests a drastic change, they'll have to be the ones to see if it's good enough to be considered. Same for lag. We need someone to check out lag-reducing suggestions thoroughly, we can't have something flawed in any way. OF course, you need to have proven you have a vast knowledge of whatever it is you're signing up to specialize in

Okay. I suggest we have this discussed at a later time, when we have a larger member-base.
Re: Game Repack Development Blog
Oh, but does this mean the 'special senators team' have power over others' opinions?
Because that would be unfair.
It should be like American Idol. Everyone can vote

Whut? No.....Specialist will just be more knowledgeable in certain aspects of this game, and provide their values insight when it's needed in a debate.
Re: Game Repack Development Blog
Yeah, which is good.
But just don't let these people have more power over common people like me ya?
I believe that everyone's opinion is equal since FFCA is a voluntary thing.
On topic: Yes, we should get constant updates of how the repack is going. For all we know, they might just put it off to a later date and rush through it.

M'kay.
Mrfarhan, specialists are simply there to confirm validity of a suggestion.

I think that it would be better if Nexon just had a Development Blog for everything that goes on in Combat Arms so they could inform us on Multiple things like upcoming events and items

Right, and he said that.
It would just be nice to include EVERYTHING; events, new weapons, new maps, bug fixes, schedule outlines, etc...
Re: Game Repack Development Blog
I guess the thing we should do now is appoint someone with extraordinary vocabulary to write an essay on why Nexon should do this.
Like list how it would benefit us, Nexon etc.
After which you would present it to the FFCA members to proofread/find faults/add stuff.
Any volunteers?
I can't. My english sucks

I can only do okay at it. I plan on being a screenwriter when I grow up, but I doubt you'd want a high school sophomore working on this
Zirrick seems like an insightful guy, maybe he's up for it. I haven't really seen any long essays by him though :/

I'm insightful too > but I fail at expressing my insights.
Eh, age doesn't matter. If you have the time, maybe make a draft?
The essay should be about "Why we should have a Development Blog". Essay shouldn't be all about the progress of the repack.

Maybe a draft, but that's about it.
Essays written by an individual here should always be proofread, checked for mistakes by the entirety of FFCA before being published on Nexon forums.

Re: Game Repack Development Blog
Yeah, I think this subject is by far the most important issue FFCA has to handle since the majority voted on Lag/Latency problems being the worst problem they face in CA.

Whoops I thought you meant it to JUST be for the game re-pack but I re-read it in an un-tired state of mind and realised I made a mistake xD

Beer Pong works wonders, so does being strung out on japanese caffinated gum/monster<3 energy drinks.
Tell me what you want to be essay'd out. Make your point clear/concise, specify a length, tell me what you want them to walk away with. I'll draft it up best I can, not immediately, I'll probably do it/post it up by paragraph. I'd love to get some sleep, or get donated a few kegs of monster, yes I'm pretty damn sure they make them, either that or a soda syrup-like version for monster.

Re: Game Repack Development Blog
You need to draft up something like a petition.
Inform the community why we need such a blog.
Include as many advantages and disadvantages[if any] of having a Development blog.
Length should not be too long, language should be easy to read and understand [not too many difficult words ].
I think we should make a thread regarding this in the CA forums first. Ask for feedback from the community.

Re: Game Repack Development Blog
Not too many difficult words... I hate dumbing down my language :/
However, I'm too busy.
Sorry.
My English teacher tells me that to get an A in her class, I need to show that I'm putting in a lot of effort and commitment into the class. IT doesn't matter how intelligent I am or how good of a critical thinker I am, she doesn't care about that.
She expects a minimum of 2 hours from every person DAILY spent on her homework.
:<
And I got home at 8 p.m. today, and I'm about to eat dinner, so...
Sorry guys, life's being a bitch.

Re: Game Repack Development Blog
Reason for easy to read language is to get our point across easier.
Anyways, have you really thought about your career path? I mean, screenwriters start off writing without pay. And screenwriting isn't a very stable job.
You shouldn't depend too much on English. Everyone can speak and write english. To do well, you have to be outstanding. Proper grammar and vocab is like the required standard ._.
I don't want to watch a TV series that has no grammar mistakes, uses too many big words but has no plot.
You might want to consider careers in engineering, teaching, etc. Something more stable
